The Institute of Medicine champions optimal, equitable health for all- advancing health equity by reducing healthcare disparities. ·       Enable and encourage all to bring forth ideas regardless of education level or professional experience.

·       Respect diversity and foster inclusion.

·       Learn the norms and customs of others avoid engaging in behavior that may be considered disrespectful or intimidating.

·       Listen to other points of view and seek to understand them.

·       Do not harass anyone.

·       Don’t discriminate- of any kind.

·       Demonstrate zero tolerance for any abuse of power that compromises the public or others served.

·       Strive for personal and professional excellence and encourage professional development of others.

·       Serve with respect, concern, courtesy, and responsiveness in carrying out the organization’s mission.

·       Work to safeguard and foster the rights and interests of the public and others served by the organization.

·       Work to identify, meet the healthcare needs of the public and support access to healthcare to all.

·       Don’t violate the law.


Any IOMC member may submit any concerns, issues, or complaints regarding violations of the IOMC Code of Conduct within 30 days of the alleged violation to the Office of IOMC.

In the event of a potential violation of the Code of Conduct, please submit your information to IOMC at contactus@iomc.org.

A written acknowledgment will made regarding the alleged infraction in writing to the member upon receipt of the written alleged grievance. The alleged infraction will be reviewed within 90 days thereof. The decision of the board will be final per the bylaws.
